Athlete Name: Ava Dlugolecki
Age: 18
From: London, Ontario, CAN
Club/ School Affiliation: London Western Rowing Club
Coach: Mark Henry
What are your personal and competitive goals?
I was never the fastest, strongest, or tallest on the team. I was never the person the University’s looked for at regattas. I never had the fastest or most impressive times. But I did have something—a love for the sport. I love rowing with every cell in my body, and from the moment I first sat in a boat, I knew that I wanted to row. This adoration has encouraged me to try my very best every single day, so that one day I can be the strongest and fastest. The one the University’s look for at regattas. The one with the impressive times. I am trying to be the very best version of myself every single day, and I hope to one day reach these goals.
